The Future of Work
Of very high Importance to You only survival, safety and health are above it.
When I got out of the Army after being out of the country for years I just looked in the paper and 3 days later I had a job. There were lots of decent jobs around. After working a year I had saved enough to buy a new dodge Van right out of the showroom and paid cash. That was in the past.
Machines first helped us by doing heavy work. Then employers discovered they could buy a computer and replace several humans. The employer found that with a spreadsheet on a computer one worker could do the jobs of several accountants. The employer could then pay less people meaning bigger profits. Soon office automation was happening all over.
Typing pools were eliminated when workers were issued a computer and told to use the word processor instead of the typing pool. Soon most executives except high executives were told to write their own reports because their secretary was being eliminated.
As computers got better, faster and did more things soon they replaced humans in many jobs. Now computer systems are replacing thousands of jobs.
Robots were brought into the factories to do repetitive jobs on the assembly lines. Thousands of workers were displaced. The robot works 24/7 without supervision, no lunch break, no bathroom break, works in the dark and all without pay.
Here are a few jobs that were eliminated:
typesetters, telephone operators, typists, secretaries, press operators, photo lab workers, gas station attendants who used to check your oil and put in your gas, manual laborers, mail clerks, meter readers.
Here are some jobs that are about to be replaced: business assistants, brick layers, taxi drivers, truck drivers, office assistants, most newspaper employees, most magazine employees, drafts men, manual tool and die workers, shop workers, bank coin counters, bank tellers, clerks, retail sales people, personnel department workers, accountant department workers, waitresses. Teachers, college professors.
In fact in the next decade 60% of current jobs will be eliminated by computers, machines and robots.
There is an ongoing rush to replace humans with computers and machines.
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN FOR YOUR FUTURE? TOO MANY PEOPLE NOT ENOUGH JOBS.
Corporations now run most businesses. Corporations are for the most part only interested in making money. They do so at the expense of workers. In the last 10 years corporate Greed has gone wild. Most of the income growth was th those who don't need it and the working class has become the forgotten class. Most corporate executives are excessively overpaid,
Look at Walmart the executives are being paid millions each plus benefits. The workers are trying to exist on 7-10 dollars per hour, most with no benefits and worse are only given 20-30 hours a week. So many workers have to work two jobs with long hours just to survive. There is an excess of workers so if you need a day off or have to take a part of a day off to take your kid to the hospital you may be fired.
Thousands of foreigners are coming in and are given thousands of dollars the first two years plus they can get on welfare. Welfare actually pays more than working at most low paying jobs and it has medical benefits.
Often work is no longer an employer's building where you to work. There is now a paradigm shift in hiring by employers. They used to put an ad in the paper and interview workers. Now they have a job placement service do that work for a very small fee. The job placement service looks at Monster, Dice and other resume services. The job placement services hire from a worldwide pool of workers. They hire project teams who use software to collaborate with each other online. They may use skype
Your place of residence is in many cases no longer important as the job can be done from home.
Employers are hiring virtual teams of temporary worker by the job often just called a project. The employer will hire a new virtual team for the next project. Your competition is not only from people worldwide but from working computers, robots and crowd sourcing. Like Wikopedia, ReCapcha
When you apply for a job you need to stand out. The future of work is on demand. Employers are hot hiring the person they are making a contract per job. Employers are hiring virtual Teams of individuals around the world who will work together using collaboration software. Millions Americans are working in virtual teams now. Your earning potential will be based on merit. Odesk.org is now Upwork.com “Get more done with freelancers. 14 million businesses use Upwork. See fields

New technologies will cause need for new workers in new fields such as 3D printing where things are made by just printing them. How 3D Printing works
3D Printing is taking off like rockets. This will be used in automotive, manufacturing and soon in nearly all fields where parts or objects are needed. The stores have millions of items which are now injection molded. This will continue. But specialized, rare, one of a kind, old out of stock, and on demand items will be made using 3D printing. In locations where shipping is a problem such as space stations, Alaska, Antarctica (which may soon be much more inhabited due to global warming) 3D printing will enable items to be made quickly as needed.
Even entertainment is changing. Video stores will soon be gone. Most everything will be available for small charge on Internet. Big events will use huge life-like holograms. There will arise a need for technical workers who know how to put on a show like this.
example: Life

There are thousands of people looking for jobs. Many of them are better educated and have
more experience than you. Employers have many applicants to choose
from. Why should he hire you?
First Understand that the world does not owe you a living. Neither does the government or
your parents. You have to Make yourself marketable to employers and
make yourself available.
To make yourself
marketable to an employer you have to have something he wants to
pay for. Such as a good worker who does the work assigned to him and
who is loyal, who won't steal, who is on time for work, shows up for
work every day, and does the job. In other words is dependable.
How does the employer
determine that a possible employee has those attributes? Well the
employer looks at: Did he graduate from High School with a good
average? Does he have a work history that shows that he is
dependable? Did he last over 90 days on most jobs? Was he fired a
lot?
The employer today also
looks at Facebook and does background checks. Are there items of
questionable behavior on Facebook or in the background. Wild parties,
aberrant behaviors or mental problems? Does he use drugs or smoke? Is
the police record clean? Expect to be given a drug test.
Are there any clues to STDs?
Is he an American citizen? Does his physical health appear to be
good. Be sure your public behavior and all social media reflect a
person an employer would want to hire. Do not post questionable stuff
on Facebook or other social media. Be careful what you post on the
Internet. Employers may do a background check and if they find one
little thing they do not like your application goes in the trash
because they have hundreds of possible job applicants to pick from.
It might be a good idea to open up a new Facebook account for job
application purposes and be sure it is clean in case they ask for
that account name.
So we have a Good High School
Record, Good job Record. No questionable behavior on social media.
Clean Police record. No drugs. Good health. But what about personal
standards. Employers want not only a person they can depend on but
on a person they can trust. They prefer a person who has personal
moral standards that mean for example the potential employee has
internal moral standards of decency and can be relied on to do the
right actions on their own without external guidance. Example a
large amount of cash was accidentally left out in an envelope and
discovered by an employee. What will the employee do with it? If you are a person of color it is not racism you have to battle rather the Detroit Culture stereotype. I have to tell you the truth. Several employers have personally told me that they hired employees who were former Detroit residents and were disimpressed with their honesty, attitude and the effort put into their work. They told me that with former Detroit resident employees that they discovered more things seemed to be disappearing from the workplace than with local resident employees. Sorry to say that a few workers who were former Detroit residents have left a very bad record of theft and poor work. Again it is not racism here but the Detroit culture that leaves some employers bitter. Can you blame them when thousands of dollars of goods are missing? My solution to help you battle this is to suggest for you to inform the potential employer that you come from a good family with the work ethic. It wouldn't hurt to mention that you are a church goer. If you are in college mention that you are studying hard and trying to succeed. The better impression you can leave the interview with, the better your chances of getting the job.
Humans need a code of conduct and the best one is known as the
Golden Rule which is Do Only as You Would Want To Be Done
to Yourself, or put another way Don't do to others what you
would not want done to yourself. It is the best rule of human
relations. It goes for both employees and employers. If you are an
employer making a ton of money share it fairly with employees. No
corporate officer should be making more than 10 times that of the
lowest paid employee.
Employers expect a PROPERLY FILLED OUT JOB
APPLICATION PRINTED NEATLY. If not it goes in the waste basket.
It is a good idea to go thru it and fill
out all answers on a blank sheet of paper first. Check spelling and make sure facts stated are accurate, Then fill it out neatly. These days you can expect that they will check it out.
Prepare yourself.
Look at the job market and many fields. Become knowledgeable in something
employers pay people to know or do.
At least a couple of college
classes with a good grade is a great job possibility booster. Particularly good
is an IT class and a computer networking or security class completed
with a good grade. That puts you ahead of hundreds of others.
Prepare a good Resume. Make
one especially for that particular job. ResumeWritingGuide

dressed polite and prepared for the interview. InterviewGuide

Finding
a Job.
Look at the
jobs that are out there. Know the job market, who is hiring and what
is being paid.
If possible try for better jobs. Try to avoid dead end jobs that have no future
and don't pay much.
You are much better off working for a company which is growing and is progressive.
Do some research. Don't just settle for any crappy job unless you are desperate.
But if you have
no experience a starter job at least gives you that 90 day experience
at one job that employers look for.
Best way to Find a Job is active networking with almost everyone you meet everyday.
Print up business cards You can get those on line free or better you can easily print them yourself even if you have to use paper instead of card stock. They make snap apart card stock with ten cards to a sheet. On your card put your
name email, phone, some qualifications, perhaps what you are looking
for and Ask for Job Leads.
Offer a finders reward. That is on your card put FINDER REWARD. That is offer
a reward for them giving you a good job lead that leads you into
getting a that job. Incentive works. Many people will do more if there is a chance they may get a reward.
Do you really want a good job? Then: Everyday-
Give the cards to friends, relatives and people you meet. Ask them for job leads.
Give the cards to friends, relatives and people you meet. Ask them for job leads.

Get the idea. Active Networking Every Day!
Visit job
locations particularly close to home.
Go to job fairs. Give out your resumes.
Get online and look at the thousands of jobs available online but use good
sites.
Number one is Your College's Job Referral Site such as macombcareerlink
Also check Craig's List but be careful. http://detroit.craigslist.org/

Sales
Find a product or service that is needed. Create it or convince others that
you can sell it so you make a profit.
That is a secret of success for many rich folks.
To be a
success think Success. You are the sum of your thoughts.
I did that when time were tough. I got paid well. I got a paycheck the next week. They found jobs for me. Many companies use temp agencies to avoid hassles as the temp agency does the hiring, takes care of bookkeeping. And if the company likes the worker they can hire the worker as their own employee. Temp agencies know that this will happen to some workers. Usually it is a win win for everyone involved. Most of the temp jobs I had were very easy. One job I had was filling in for a secretary at GM. I was there for two weeks and just answered the phone and took messages. Hardest part was staying awake. There are also guard jobs. You have to wear a guard uniform and just be there. No gun needed. You just walk around and guard. You use your cell phone to call 911 or the company if there is a problem. Basically it is almost all show.

Post some tear off number notices on community bulletin boards. Even going down a street with businesses and giving them your card or flier offering reliable part time work listing what you can do has worked for many people when everything else has failed.

If you speak other languages be sure to note that on your resume. That can be a positive. Here is one you can learn in a month and communicate with people in over 100 countries. Looks good on a resume.
Being able to communicate
with those who speak other languages is drastically needed in the
world today. There are over 1000 languages commonly used around the
world and some of them here. Most are mutually non comprehend-able
meaning you can't understand what the other guy is saying unless you
know his language. Businesses lose thousands of dollars because of
non understanding between languages. But there is an easy
solution.
The Quickest and
most Cost and time efficient way for understanding between
languages and to get employees around the world to understand each other
is to learn the easiest language.

HOW TO MAKE WEB PAGES
Here is something you can learn quickly and actually make money helping business people maintain their business sites or helping people who wish to set up their own. This can pay very well.
Basic web page creation is easy. Can be done
without expensive programs. All you need
is a simple text editor like Notepad.
If you are desperate for a quick page you can use a word processor like Open
Office and save as a HTML page. This gives you a web page quickly
but the code is sloppy and bulky. You then can view the page in any
browser such as Firefox. You upload your page to a server on the
internet and it can be then viewed by millions.
Basic HTML is easy That is the scripting language used to create a web page. It
works fine but works more efficiently as XHTML or XML using style
settings or sheets also known as CSS. Do a Google search on tutor
for these and you will find much free information.
Simple HTML
is as follows. The code is shown above and the result shown below
